The Riverina and Darlington Point Energy Storage Systems, totalling 150MW / 300MWh combined capacity, are situated in close proximity to TransGrid’s Darlington Point Substation within the Murrumbidgee Shire, Southwest NSW. The Riverina BESS project contributes to the journey toward reducing Australia’s carbon footprint, moving the nation closer to emission reduction targets as the government, businesses and consumers have increased supply of renewable and secure energy.
Amplex has actively participated in the ongoing development of the Darlington Point site, contributing notably through the provision of cables for the solar farm grid connections, the replacement of the original 330kV substation secondary system, the solar farm, and indeed, the integration of the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) along with its grid connection. Over this time, we’ve worked with the grid owner, the solar farm EPC and the BESS EPC. For the BESS and its substation, our focus was on highly flexible cables for installation in limited spaces.
