The BRD project contributes to a reduction in traffic congestion caused by road freight and truck movements, as the efficiency of rail networks is enhanced to meet present and future demands. The remaining 2.9km section of single line track into Port Botany will be duplicated in the Botany Rail Duplication (BRD) project, widening the freight capacity into the network as train movements increase from 20 per day, to 45 per day by 2030.
Amplex delivered the initial 3 stages of the project, using stock from our NSW warehouse to support the John Holland team with extra cables, whilst supplying ARTC with custom rail signaling cables. Cable was delivered direct to site, using crane truck facilities as Amplex liaised directly with the site signal electrician and signal construction manager.
