The Port Hedland Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project is a new 35MW / 36.7 MWh facility designed to replace the traditional spinning reserve provided by the gas-fired power station.
This project integrates the BESS to provide instantaneous grid support, effectively linking with the existing Port Hedland Power Station. By doing so, it supports the supply of renewable energy to large mining companies in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
Amplex played a crucial role in the success of the Port Hedland BESS by supplying a range of cables including Flexible Copper Cable, Fibre Optic Cable and Low Voltage Cable. Throughout this project, we ensured a collaborative approach ensuring that all project requirements were met with efficiency, demonstrating our capability to support large scale energy projects.
